The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of the Benue State University, Makurdi, Professor Zacharys Gundu, has said that the university has developed greatly during Governor Samuel Ortom’s administration.
Prof. Gundu disclosed this in a chat with journalists at the Benue People’s House, Makurdi after the council met with the Governor.
He explained that over ninety per cent of the degree courses in the institution got full accreditation and the remaining got partial accreditation which is a great milestone achieved during the Ortom’s administration.
Prof. Gundu further stated that the university has performed well in the area of academic as one of the Law graduands of the institution bagged a first class from the Nigeria Law School as well as a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences, Dr Aamo Iorliam coming top at the Web Sat Development National Competition in Abuja.
He noted that infrastructure wise there is great improvement and development.
On his part, the Vice Chancellor of the Benue State University, Prof Msugh Kembe said Governor Ortom has done a lot for the development of the university, adding that, the on-going strike in the institution is just to sympathize with the nation body of ASUU and soon, it would be over since Ortom’s administration has started paying the allowances which is the bone of contention for the strike.
Also speaking, Dr Aamo Iorliam said he has developed a web sat known as Forensic Sat which is capable of monitoring all communications on mobile phones.
