Governor Samuel Ortom has cautioned members of the Benue State Executive Council to avoid any act that would tarnish or bring his administration to disrepute.
Briefing journalists after the state EXCO meeting recently in Makurdi, Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Comrade Joseph Shimaor said the caution has become necessary due to increase in political activities towards the 2019general elections.
Comrade Shimaor explained that, the EXCO has looked critically at the state budget with view to impacting on the well-being of the people of the state.
He explained further that the EXCO also looked at the report of electricity project in Agatu Local Government Area, especially from Oshigbudu to Enicha communities and discovered that the contractor has done well and encouraged the contractor to complete the remaining job.
Comrade Shimaor stated that EXCO has approved the Holy Pilgrimage to Jerusalem with the state government sponsoring 150 pilgrims, while the local governments would sponsor 100 pilgrims.
Meanwhile, the Tricycle Riders Association, Benue State Chapter has endorsed Governor Samuel Ortom for another term of office.
Speaking, the state Chairman of the association, Bem Gber commended the governor’s developmental strides in different areas and promised to give the governor unalloyed loyalty and support to succeed.
Responding, Governor Ortom urged the association members to shun vices that can divide the group.
