A group known as APC Youth League Benue State Chapter says it is willing to throw its weight behind the election of APC aspirants within their constituencies for the 2019 general elections.
The group in conjunction with Buhari Support Group demonstrated this in a solidarity march round Makurdi metropolis, which culminated in the flag off of its campaign office in Makurdi.
The National Coordinator of the League, Comrade Faeren Atir, said the march is to express their support for the APC nationwide, adding that the march would be done in the three senatorial zones of the state.
Giving reasons for the support, he said President Buhari under the APC has been able to change the narrative of the common man through the social investment programme, which he said captures power, market moni and so deserves another tenure if democracy dividends would continue to be provided for the people in the country.
In a remark, Hon Titus Zam, the group’s patron, commended the bold step taken by the youths in embarking on the march, saying it is a fight for their future and that of their children and assured them of the support of the APC in the state.
He said while voting for Buhari, they should also ensure that they vote for Jime as the governor of Benue, maintaining that doing so would establish a connect between the state and the federal government, thereby attracting massive development to the state.
Earlier in a welcome address, the State Coordinator of the group, Washima Harris Tersoo said the march is a clear indication that the narrative by many that there is no APC in the state is laughable.
He commended the good sportsmanship exhibited by all the participants during the march, march describing it as a walk for their tomorrow.
